Virtual Congress

Rockman et al is playing a supportive role in the preliminary design and development of The Virtual Congress (working title), as part of a grant to the Center on Congress at Indiana University from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) and its American History and Civics Initiative. The Virtual Congress is an innovative online learning environment that aims to give students an insider's view of representative democracy and help them understand their role as citizens. The Virtual Congress will allow students to take on the role of Congressmen or Congresswomen, members of the press, representatives of public interest groups, Congressional staff members, or constituents. It will have both single-player and multi-player modes and a wide range of instructional supports to foster both in-school and out-of-school usage.
