Rockman et cetera's selected projects.

Funded by the Joyce Foundation, Rockman et cetera and the Bay Area Research Group conducted a two-year study of the activities undertaken by the Learning Technologies (LT) Office of the Chicago Public Schools (CPS) to help teachers effectively integrate technology into their curriculum and instruction. The study made recommendations for strategies to focus and support professional development and as well as to provide leadership within the CPS organization.

Funded by the Hewlett Foundation, Rockman et cetera and DesignWorlds for Learning, Inc. collaborated on a pilot project called the Bay Area Science Museum Learning Collaboratory to help San Francisco Bay Area middle school science teachers identify and integrate high quality museum exhibits and online museum learning experiences and resources into their science curricula to help improve their students' learning and achievement in science. A further award from the S. D. Bechtel, Jr. Foundation of San Francisco supported the next phase of development of the Bay Area Science Education Collaboratory.

More information on the Collaboratory is available here, and you may also see our final report on our previous related grant from the Hewlett Foundation (with DesignWorlds for Learning) here.

Town School for Boys of San Francisco, California. Rockman et cetera conducted an evaluation of the Town School’s laptop program during its early phases to identify the perceived value of the program and its potential to influence teaching and learning.
