Rockman et al staff will be attending the following upcoming events:

MSP (Math Science Partnership) Learning Network Conference 2012 in Washington, D.C.

On Monday, January 23 from 11:10 AM-12:45 PM, Nisaa Kirtman will give a paper presentation entitled "Bridging Research and Knowledge to Application in an Effort to Improve and Refine Strategic Goals, Program Implementation, and Evaluation Methods."

On Tuesday, January 24 from 9:10-10:10 AM, Kristin Bass will be a "Fish" in a Fishbowl Activity, in which heterogenous groups of people will engage in focused conversation about the topic of effective teaching in STEM. From 10:25 AM-12:00 PM, Kristin Bass will give a paper presentation entitled "Creating Coherence: Working with University Faculty and School Administrators to Support Effective High School Science Teaching."

Kristin Bass and Nisaa Kirtman will also be giving a poster presentation entitled Teacher Effectiveness at Project MAST.

Digital Media and Learning (DML) Conference 2012 in San Francisco

Saul Rockman, Kristin Bass, and Shirin Panahandeh will be attending the conference.

National Association for Research in Science Teaching's (NARST) 2012 Annual Conference in Indianapolis, IN.

On Wednesday, March 28 from 1:00-2:30 PM at the JW Marriott (Room 305), Jennifer Borland and Aaron Price (AAVSO) will give a presentation entitled "Getting Participants to Participate: Stimulating interest and involvement among participants in a citizen science initiative."

Additionally during the same timeframe, Jennifer Borland, Aaron Price, and Hee-Sun Lee (University of California, Berkeley) will give a presentation entitled "Scientific Competencies and Learning in Online Discourse of a Citizen Science Project."

NSTA's (National Science Teachers Association) National Conference in Indianapolis, IN.

On Saturday, March 31 from 8:00-9:00 AM at the JW Marriott (Room 103), Camellia Sanford and Jennifer Borland will lead a presentation called "Evaluating Informal Science Education: Tales from the Evaluative Trenches." This presentation will highlight the results of numerous current and recent informal science education evaluation efforts including museum-based exhibitions and programming, citizen science programs, and educational television programs and websites.
